What is ALLi?
ALLi, the Alliance of Independent Authors, is a non-profit professional association for authors who self-publish.
Our alliance offers connection and collaboration, advice and education, advocacy and representation to writers who want to self-publish well.
MISSION: Ethics and excellence in self-publishing.
MOTTO: Working together to help each other.
Our name is pronounced “ally” (al-eye not al-ee). We are your self-publishing ally and all of us are ALLies together.
Founded by Orna Ross (left), a trade-published author turned indie, ALLi launched at London Book Fair in 2012 and has quickly grown to have thousands of members and a reach of hundreds of thousands of authors, all over the world.
We offer many Member-Only Benefits, including a closed online forum, discounts and deals, free guidebooks and booklets, seminars and events, contract and legal advice, and more.
We also run a Watchdog desk, a Partner Membership that vets approved self-publishing services and we run a variety of campaigns that advocate on behalf of self-publishers, everywhere.
And, as a reachout services to the wider indie author community, we also run a popular self-publishing advice centre and blog and, three times a year a free online conference, the Indie Author Fringe.
Our diverse, supportive and friendly community has four membership levels: three for authors, from Associate (planning to self-publish) to Professional (earning a living as an author-publisher); and a Partner Membership for good author services willing to be vetted and approved by our Watchdog Desk.
If you’re an author who self-publishes or would like to, or an author service willing to go through a vetting process, we’d love you to JOIN US.
Together we’re stronger.
