Thursday, September 10th, 2026, LONDON, UK — Registration is now open for the 2026 Self-Publishing Advice Conference (SelfPubCon26), a global online event for independent authors, taking place on 17th & 18th October 2026 in association with the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi).
With this year’s theme, The Future of Self-Publishing: What’s Working Now & What’s Next, SelfPubCon26 will bring together leading authors, publishing experts and industry professionals to explore the trends, technologies and strategies shaping the next phase of independent publishing.
Opening the conference will be renowned publishing industry expert Jane Friedman, publisher of The Bottom Line, whose keynote, The Indie Author’s Next Move: What’s Working Now and Where the Market Is Heading, will examine the trending opportunities and business models for indie authors’ today.
The two-day programme will feature a wide range of expert-led sessions covering writing craft, reader reach, crowdfunding, technology, book marketing, reader behaviour, expanded markets and more. Sessions will explore both what’s working for indie authors today and the latest developments shaping publishing in the years ahead.

New for 2026: Conference Prize Draw
In a change to previous years, everyone who registers for SelfPubCon26 will be automatically entered into the 2026 Self-Publishing Advice Conference Prize Draw, with no additional entry required.
The prize draw features a selection of prizes generously donated by ALLi Partner Members and SelfPubCon sponsors, spanning editing, design, publishing, marketing, and more.
The grand prize, generously donated by Kobo Writing Life, is a Kobo Clara Colour eReader, in the winner’s choice of black or white. Every winner will also receive a complimentary eBook copy of Creative Self-Publishing by ALLi Director Orna Ross, plus one randomly selected prize from the conference’s ‘Get it Published’ Pack.
More Than a Conference
Following the two-day conference, ALLi members and conference access-pass holders will be invited to an exclusive Indie Author Lab workshop on 19th October, led by ALLi Director Orna Ross. The practical workshop will help attendees turn the ideas and insights from SelfPubCon26 into action within their own publishing businesses.
The conference will be hosted online, allowing indie authors around the world to participate without the need to travel. The event will include live and pre-recorded sessions, interactive discussions, networking opportunities and session replays.
SelfPubCon has developed into a major annual gathering for the independent author community. The 2025 conference received more than 38,000 visits during the live weekend, demonstrating the global appetite for practical, forward-thinking advice on self-publishing.
