ALLi will have a big presence at Author Nation in Las Vegas this year. Do come and say hello.

Throughout the event (10–13 November) you’ll find members of the ALLi team at Stand A5 directly opposite the Event Centre, so be sure to stop by. We love to connect with members around the world, hear what you’re doing and answer your questions.

On Wednesday 11 November, ALLi’s outreach manager Michael La Ronn will hold a session Red Flags & Rip-Offs: How Authors Can Avoid Scams. Find him in Palace 3 at 4pm. Michael will expose some of the tactics being used to target authors today, from bogus literary agents and predatory anthologies to phishing emails dressed up as flattery and contracts designed to trap you. You’ll learn how to use the SALSA test to spot scammers and the practical steps you can take to protect your rights and royalties.

There will be an early-morning ALLi member meet-up on Thursday 12 November 7.30 – 8.30am in the Gold Room. It’s a chance to connect with fellow members and chat with the ALLi team in an informal setting. By then your head will likely be spinning with new ideas. We’ll be on hand to help with that.

On Friday 13 November 10am to 1pm ALLi director Orna Ross will be running her popular Indie Author Lab. Orna’s workshop gives you the space and structure to process what you’ve heard, sift what matters for you, and leave with a good plan built around your own creative intentions rather than somebody else’s formula.
