FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Friday, February 23, 2024, LONDON, UKThe Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi) is pleased to announce its extensive participation at the London Book Fair 2024, where it will host a series of pivotal events and talks, and welcomes the introduction of the new, ground-breaking Self-Publishing Zone.

The London Book Fair (LBF) is where the global publishing community unites to develop relationships, gain insights, and define the future of creative content. ALLi's presence at Stand 1F51, at the heart of the new Self-Publishing Zone, speaks to the innovative strides taken by independent authors in recent years.

At LBF, indie authors can now network, find inspirations and insights, and catch up with the latest in publishing tools, services, and strategies that empower author-publishing.

Orna Ross, Director of the Alliance of Independent Authors, said: “Self-publishing is no longer ‘plan B' but rather many authors' first choice as a route to market, offering more income, impact, and creative independence. Yes, there are challenges, but the success of so many independent authors shows that they are far from insurmountable.

LBF 24 Highlights from ALLi include:

Big Indie Author Data Drop 2024, ALLi’s annual roundup of data about self-publishing, with many fascinating research findings about independent authorship today. e.g. younger authors (under 45) are making self-publishing their first choice (Authors Guild, 2023); Multiple PhDs are now being undertaken looking into self-publishing and author entrepreneurship; Nielsen aiming to track indie sales.

ALLi Education and Discussion Panels at Writers’ Summit and Author HQ focusing on the rise of indie authors, self-publishing success tips, and strategies for diversifying authors’ incomes. These sessions boast an impressive line-up of self-publishing experts such as Joanna Penn, (ALLi’s Enterprise & Technology Advisor) Roz Morris (ALLi’s Editor-in-Chief), Sacha Black (ALLi’s Content and Communications Strategist), and ALLi’s founder, Orna Ross. Additionally, Michael La Ronn (ALLi’s Partner Outreach Manager) and Melissa Addey (ALLi’s Campaigns Manager), will share their expertise, highlighting the organization's commitment to every aspect of the advancement of self-publishing.

Ethan Ellenberg: Rights Advice and Representation

Renowned literary agent, Ethan Ellenberg, who offers rights advice to ALLi members and represents qualified members in rights negotiations, as required, will be present at the ALLi stand (1F51) on Tuesday 12th March 2024 and Wednesday 13th March 2024.

At Stand 1F51, the ALLi team is eager to share information about the organisation's advocacy efforts, resources, and the benefits of membership.

Members and friends will congregate at a drinks party on Wednesday 13th March, from 5:30pm to 8pm at The Hand and Flower, Olympia. Generously sponsored by Amazon KDP, this gathering is an excellent opportunity for authors to connect with Amazon and other ALLi members and friends.
