Coyotes in Winter: A Noir Thriller At America’s Northern Border

A mysterious stranger. A plan gone wrong. A fight for survival along America’s northern border.

Nurse and former combat medic Ben Rossi has been investigating a series of unusual drug thefts at his clinic. Instead of opioids, a steady stream of antibiotics, antivirals, and other medicines that have little value on the black market are being taken each week. Rossi has contacted the police, but they have bigger concerns with stopping the flow of narcotics that flow through the county on their way to Canada. He teams up with a friend and disgraced sheriff's deputy, Riley Lopez. So far, every lead has turned up nothing and every location has been empty, except for a nearly-forgotten diner on rural highway. Together, Rossi and Lopez uncover a much larger criminal operation, and end up in a fight for their lives.
