ALLi runs an ongoing campaign to encourage and aid literary events, festivals, prizes, reviewers, booksellers, government bodies, and other interested parties to find ways to include self-publishing authors in their programs, events, listings and reviews.
There are four components to this campaign:
Our campaign guidebook: Open Up To Indie Authors offers best practices and urges literay prizes, festivals, events, bookstores, libraries and others to include self-publishing authors in their programs.
Email campaign: We run an email campaign where we highlight access issues to organizers of literary prizes, events and programs. This campaign is organized through our international ambassadors and links with other author organizations, and has global reach.
If you’d like to volunteer to help, please contact us.
Information gathering: Please contact us with commendations for those who are opening up to indies, as well as recommendations to those who could do better.
Petition: We have created a petition for the equitable inclusion of self-published books which is sent to literary festivals and prizes; government bodies; creative industry professionals; literacy, literature and cultural organisations; government bodies and decision-makers; and other interested parties in key countries. Add your name and pass on to your author friends.
