MW Editing is run by Dr Magda Wojcik, a freelance copyeditor and a lifelong lover of literature. Magda has a PhD in literary history and is an Intermediate Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). Magda is also a student member of the Society of Indexers, training towards becoming an accredited indexer.

Magda works with self-publishers, academic presses and traditional publishing houses. Magda edits, proofreads and indexes non-fiction: memoirs, biographies, self-help/self-improvement books and publications about a wide range of topics in humanities and social sciences.

Her areas of particular interest and knowledge include literature, literary criticism, history, women and gender studies, mental health and animals (behaviour and welfare).

Because of her background in Chinese studies, Magda often work with Chinese-speaking authors publishing in English (translation editing). Working with the original text alongside the translated version rather than the translated work in isolation has always helped her improve the accuracy of my edits.
