Trusted Self-Publishing Advice

The problem with self-publishing, especially when starting out, is not a lack of information but too much information. So much myth and misinformation too. We are the only non-profit professional association for self-publishing authors. We deliver only best practice advice. Opinion is clearly marked as such. Research and objectivity are prized. ALLi members know they can trust the advice they receive from our advisors.

Worldclass Advisors

In addition to our Director, Orna Ross and team–Boni Wagner-Stafford, Sacha Black, John Doppler, we have a team of outside advisors including Mark Coker, Head of Smashwords, Joel Friedlander, publishing analyst and consultant, Jane Friedman, author activist and marketer supremo David Gaughran, enterprise advisor Joanna Penn, watchdog Victoria Strauss and many more. Our advisor network is simply the best in the self-publishing world and all are incredibly supportive of our members and the wider indie author community.

Your Questions Answered

Everybody self-publishes differently. We offer a number of opportunities to have your particular questions directly answered, including a monthly online Member Q&A on Facebook Live, closed member forums and email advice and guidance.

We are not lawyers but we offer general business and legal advice to our members, through downloads, templates and guidebooks. We also offer contract advice.
